Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 3, 2026

Scholarly is built to help students stay on top of their academic life. Your privacy is important to us, so we keep things simple: your data stays yours, and we only collect what we need to keep the app working well.

What data do we collect?

Scholarly collects the following types of information depending on how you use the app:

  • App data you create — courses, assignments, tasks, grades, and events you add to the app. This is stored locally on your device.
  • Crash reports — if the app crashes, we collect diagnostic information (device type, OS version, and a stack trace) to help us fix the issue. This is handled by Sentry.
  • Usage data — we collect anonymised data about how features are used (e.g. which screens are visited) to help us improve the app. This data is not linked to you personally.

How do we use your data?

  • To fix bugs and improve app stability (crash reports)
  • To understand how features are used and improve the app (usage data)

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.

Who do we share your data with?

We share data only with the third-party services that power the app:

  • Sentry — crash reporting. Sentry receives diagnostic data when the app crashes.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

How long do we keep your data?

  • Local data — stays on your device until you delete the app.
  • Crash reports — retained by Sentry for 90 days.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you
  • Request that we delete your data
  • Opt out of analytics data collection

To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@scholarly.to.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we'll let you know in the app.
